High wind and snow? YOLO

On the 10th of of January, as we prepared to travel to Lake Tahoe, the following message was shown when checking the status of I-80 at this URL: http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/display.php?page=i80.

IS CLOSED FROM COLFAX (PLACER CO) TO THE NEVADA STATE LINE – DUE TO REDUCED
VISIBILITY – MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

EASTBOUND TRUCKS ARE BEING SCREENED AT APPLEGATE (PLACER CO) – DRIVERS MUST
HAVE MAXIMUM CHAINS IN THEIR POSSESSION IN ORDER TO PROCEED – PERMIT LOADS ARE
