GPL in Rome

Walking back to our Rome accommodations today, we came across a “GPL” car.

One response to “GPL in Rome”

  1. Haha you probably figured it out by now but this probably stands for LPG which is Liquid Petroleum Gas. It’s an alternative fuel that is (used to be?) much cheaper than diesel or gasoline.

There were concerns with the early models that didn’t have a special kind of valve, making them more dangerous in case of fire. The vehicles without the valve are also banned from underground parkings. A law was passed and now all new vehicles must have this valve.
