Sara, Hero, and I went to a birthday party at the Roller Plex today. The low light and action made it hard to take any good pictures, but I did manage to get a few that I like.

Hero after riding at Lone Star Drift
While I didn’t get any video while Hero was riding at Lone Star Drift with Dillon Tonsi, I did get some just after he got back.
I love his attitude. The way he says “yea” comes off to me as, “No biggie Dad”.
Many thanks to Dillon for taking Hero out!

Hero the farmer and friends
Hero played a farmer in his Spring 2016 school program.
These school events are increasingly frustrating with every single parent pointing their phone, camcorder, DSLR, or some other recording device. Flashes were consistently going off.
I can’t complain too much because our family is probably the worst offender. Sitting to my left was my mother and to my right was Sara with our DSLR and tripod setup.
In the end, it all worked out because we got these pictures. I may be partial, but I think Sara did a pretty good job of putting together his costume.

As I was putting up the mower, after mowing the front yard, I saw this joker just hanging out in his bumblebee costume and flip flops ?

Talking WordPress.com & Jetpack With Eric Binnion
Gary Leland interviewed me this past Friday for his podcast.
In the interview, Gary asked me questions about most of the modules in Jetpack. So, if you’re currently using self-hosted WordPress but are not using Jetpack, it may be worth a listen to figure out what you’re missing! ?
You can find the episode on Gary’s site: Talking WordPress.com & Jetpack With Eric Binnion
On episode twenty four I continue the WooCommerce Season. This week I am joined by Eric Binnion, Man Of Hustle, and we discuss WordPress.com and the Jetpack Plugin by Automattic.

Bold, Persistent Experimentation
FDR spoke these words at Ogelthorpe University in 1932. Then, and now, I believe these words hold true.
And while the words are in reference to our country, I believe the idea could be applied to most things in life.
The country needs and, unless I mistake its temper, the country demands bold, persistent experimentation. It is common sense to take a method and try it: If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.
…
We need enthusiasm, imagination and the ability to face facts, even unpleasant ones, bravely. We need to correct, by drastic means if necessary, the faults in our economic system from which we now suffer.

5 major takeaways from WooConf 2016

Thankfully, the Woo team came out with a 5 major takeaways from WooConf 2016 post that I can read until the recordings are out ?
Looks like I’m also in this fancy farewell gif.

WooConf 2016 was a blast, serving up several days of fun and learning in Austin, Texas. Here are five of the major takeaways we got from the conference. -
