I took the kids to the Wichita Mountains today to try and get some pictures of bison and longhorns. Unfortunately, we didn’t get close to any bison today, but we did come by a herd of longhorns.
Never Forget San Diego
At the Mercury meetup in San Diego, we found out that one of my coworkers is famous in Poland. Enej Bajgoric, a code wrangler at Automattic, was getting tons of Twitter followers for no reason.
When we investigated, we discovered that there was a popular band in Poland named Enej.
Here is one of the videos that we found from the band. It’s pretty catchy, although the video may be a bit much.
Jazzcon and Stark Meetup in New Orleans
This past week, I got to spend a few days in New Orleans as I worked a booth at the Jazzcon.tech conference. It just so happened that Team Stark was in NOLA for a meetup as well, so I got to spend some time with them in the evenings.
Here are a few pictures that I took.
Painted Desert, Meteor Crater, and other vacation pictures
I finally went through the pictures from the second day of our trip.
The second day of the trip was rough. When I got to the hotel that night, I found out that there was junk on the sensor, which was showing up in my pictures when I was on a closed aperture, such as f/22.
I’ve since ordered some supplies to clean the sensor, and I get to try that tonight.
Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo with the Kids
On our way to the Grand Canyon, and then Las Vegas, we stopped by Cadillac Ranch today to spray paint the cars and get some pictures. Both of the kids ended up with spray paint on them, of course. Also, we weren’t prepared for the weather, which was low 40s probably with lots of wind.
But, it was fun all the same, and I’d do it again.
Pictures from Henkels Got Hitched!
Last night, I took the kids to the wedding ceremony for one of Hero’s favorite teachers, Mrs. Elisa Henkel. I took along my camera to take a few pictures, because why not?
Well, I ended up taking more than a few.
I shot with my Sony a6000 with a 35mm f/1.8 lens in aperture priority, and set the ISO to auto starting at 1600. This left me with a lot of noise to cleanup in Lightroom, but the high ISO was necessary since it was dark.
And since there was movement in the low light, I ended up shooting most of the night in mid continuous drive mode and prayed that a few would come out OK.
